Reopening of the schools at Lukla and Chaurikharka

After more than six months of closure, the schools of Lukla and Chaurikharka have finally been reopened. In fact, the children were suffering from this social distancing and strict lockdown imposed by the government. Thanks to a serious and detailed anti-Covid concept, set up by Mr. Lakpa Thering Sherpa and his NGO “Action for Nepal”, the exceptional authorisation to open the Khumbu schools was obtained. The project is financed by our association. It involved as a first step the purchase of necessary sanitary material and a specific course for all the teachers providing them with precise instructions on hygiene.
